On December 21, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Overseas Chinese Association of Pakistan co-organized the “Consular Protection to Overseas Chinese Communities” activity during which publicity about preventive consular protection was carried out. This activity aimed to enhance the knowledge of Chinese citizens, legal persons and unincorporated organizations in Pakistan on consular protection and assistance, as well as safety and common knowledge in law necessary for studying, working, and living in Pakistan.

The Counselor, Li Yue, and the Consul, Cai Dafu, of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, the President, La Jielian, the Executive Director, Chen Wenbiao, and the Security Director, Wang Guozhong, of the Overseas Chinese Association of Pakistan, and representatives of Chinese overseas students in Pakistan attended the activity for exchange. Our lawyer, Tang Yunxia, (Team Leader of Tahota Lawyer Firmin Pakistan) was entrusted to provide legal training to them.

In the course of this activity, Lawyer Tang Yunxia introduced common legal issues by foreign investment access, commercial transaction, employment, personal injury prevention, property infringement protection and other aspects concerning Chinese citizens from the perspective of Chinese investors and in combination with trading practices and judicial practices of Pakistan. On the basis of cases of consular protection subjects, Lawyer Tang Yunxia, at the end of this activity, introduced the judicial practice of civil and criminal cases in Pakistan, and investigated into the legal remedies available for protecting Chinese enterprises and individuals when their legitimate rights and interests are infringed.
